DEEP TISSUE MASSAGES

Tissue
Designed to relieve stress by loosening muscles, deep tissue massage can also smooth out scar tissue. A deep tissue massage therapist will be focusing on the deep layers of muscles, as the name of the massage suggests, as well as connective tissues.
Deep tissue massage can be used to get relief from chronic aches and pains. It also helps relax parts of the body that have contracted, such as a stiff neck and sore shoulders. Deep tissue massages can also help with back pain and tightened leg muscles.
This type of massage does use some strokes that are similar to the ones used in classic massage therapy. However, what makes it different from the latter are the amount of pressure that is exerted and the speed of the movements.
The therapist will apply a deeper pressure and use slow movements to massage you. The idea is to concentrate on areas of tension and pain. All that discomfort is actually a part of the sub-layer of your muscles and the connective tissue surrounding them. If you have experienced a chronic muscle injury, then it is likely that bands of tissue have formed in your ligaments, muscles, or tendons that continue to be painful. Deep tissue massages can help with that, as well.
